hey, just stumbled across this forum. i'm 20 and just re-started going to bears games reguarally this season. when i was younger i used to go to games @ hersheypark arena when i lived in hershey
anyway...happy new year to everyone and to everyone attending the game:
we need to be LOUD. the games are not like i remember them being in the old place. there was one game this season where it was like a flashback...i think it was against albany and it went into overtime and the place was insane.
but thats what our boys are gonna need tonight against philly. hopefully they hand them their 5th straight and we finally get our 3rd straight win!
go bears!

Hope you were satisfied with the New Years game! It was off the charts. Bears played great and the crowd went wild! I started really attending games again last year and this was the best game I have been to since then. Hope the fans can keep up the enthusiasm! I was surprised I could even talk by the end of the game. Just goes to show what hockey can be like in the Giant Center when the team plays for the crowd and the crowd responds.
Just icing on the cake that they were playing the Phantoms! Happy New Year!

yeah that game was INCREDIBLE. i was in the 200 level because i think it provides the best view of the ice and it's cheaper, but i yelled my head off. me and my friends were going nuts. when it was 3 - 1 some obnoixous phantoms fans behind us were saying 'your team is sloppy. you can't come back from this' and then BAM the darche hattrick.
could there of been a better night for that trick? it was amazing. the place was electric. there was definitly some connection between the fans and the players because they wanted that win as much as almost everyone in that place did.
things still make me mad though...some people just dont get it. you have to get behind your team and yell and clap and STAND UP when they score big goals! like when it became 3 - 3 the kid beside me didn't even stand up. and he was a bears fan. i dont get it.
of all the recaps i've read from that game everyone has said it had the engery of a hersheypark arena game. i hope that we can soon make everygame like that.
we need to get all the fans to realize that this is OUR house. and when other teams (and their fans!) come into OUR building they are not welcome!
go bears go!

I would have been kicking myself for sure. Got a pretty good seat in 106 and was surrounded by Bears fans. I was at a perfect position to see that awesome save by Budaj - thought that Phantom was gonna sneak around the back and get right in an open goal and Budaj did a split and knocked the puck away with his skate. Talk about good goaltending and that had to be the save of the game.
I should have been laughing it up at the Phantom fans but since I wasn't near any I wasn't paying them any attention. Glad they seem to be getting the wind knocked out of their sails anyway, cause we aren't the only team winning against them lately.
I have been trying different seats throughout the arena this season and I think 106 and 105 are the best so far. I guess alot of people like to sit on the players bench side but I like to sit on the penalty box side.
Seems that the Bears have been taking more shots lately too. No more passing practice, more shots attempted more goals. A crowd shouldn't have to yell at the team to shoot, especially when it is 5 against 3 on the ice.
